Geckodb grew out of our lead developer Ben’s interest in data management and a request from his wife to help develop a more robust system to replace the spreadsheets and paper based system she was using to manage the media and consumables in the IVF laboratory she worked in. Drawing inspiration from his own background working in laboratories and knowledge gained from his university studies Ben developed an inventory management system which is still being used today.
Initially, Geckodb developed exclusively in Microsoft Access for predominantly small business clients but as time passed the scale of the projects we have worked on and the range of businesses and organisations we have helped has grown, and so have the number of platforms we develop using.
We can design solutions using Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Azure and .NET desktop to name a few.
One of Ben’s passions is helping clients find elegant and creative solutions to their data management problems to help them improve efficiency. Although Geckodb is based in Brisbane we have worked with clients all over Australia from industries as diverse as mining and logistics to healthcare and community and counselling services.
